the Bernalillo County GREEN PARTY
COUNTY & STATE CONV.

Bernalillo County Convention Set

Our annual convention of the Bernalillo County party will be held on Saturday, March 1st from 10 am - 1 pm at the Highland Senior Community Center, 131 Monroe St NE, just west of San Mateo and half a block north of Central.
Everyone is welcome, although discussion and decision making is directed toward those who are registered Green in Bernalillo County.  We'll be setting up at 10am, socializing and enjoying refreshments, then getting down to reviewing the past year's activity, discussing potential plans possible in this new year and electing new co-chairs, secretary, treasurer, and Green Council Representative.

We're also excited to feature special presentations on where we are regarding health care legislation in New Mexico by Bruce Trigg, MD,  what's going on with electoral reform by Rick Lass of Voting Matters, and a rousing review of New Mexico Green Party values by our state co-chair, Kathy Sanchez!!

then two weeks later we're excited to host the . . .

New Mexico State Green Convention Slated for March 16th in Albuquerque

Green from all over our state will be gathering at our State Convention to be held this year in Albuquerque at the University of New Mexico Law School on Sunday, March 16th from 12 noon - 3 pm in Room 4502.  At this meeting the state party will address party business, discuss new direction and action in the coming year, and elect new officers and representatives to the national committee.  We'll be discussing the upcoming National Convention and proposing those delegates to attend though actual delegate selection may take place at a nominating convention to be held in June.  And we're working on some exciting speakers & activities.

The reason we are holding this meeting on a Sunday instead of the usual Saturday is due to the fact that the prior day, March 15th, is the 5th anniversary of the invasion of Iraq leading to this debacle of war, now in its unbelievable 5th year. Stop the War Machine  plans to organize a march to offer opportunity to speak out and show our continued dismay and disagreement with this debacle that continues to claim the lives of our brothers, sisters, fathers, mothers, friends and fellow citizens.
